- "SAVET" refers to our veterinary directory and listings platform.
- "User" refers to anyone using our website, including pet owners, veterinary professionals, and clinic administrators.
- "Listing" refers to any veterinary clinic, hospital, or practice listed on SAVET.
- "Claim" refers to a request by a veterinary professional to take ownership of an existing listing on the platform.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using SAVET, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by the terms and conditions set forth below, whether or not you become a registered user of the services. These terms govern your access to and use of the website and services, and constitute a binding legal agreement between you and SAVET.
3. Use of the Website
a. Eligibility
To use SAVET, you must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract with SAVET and not be barred from using the services under applicable South African law.
b. User Accounts
- Users may be required to create an account to access certain features of the website, such as adding or claiming a veterinary clinic listing.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information as necessary.
c. Automated Access
You agree not to use any automated means, including robots, spiders, scrapers, or data mining tools, to access, extract, or scrape data from SAVET without our express prior written consent.
d. Third-Party Links
SAVET may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. You acknowledge and agree that SAVET shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused by or in connection with the use of such external content.
4. Listings and Claims
a. Adding Listings
- Users can submit new veterinary clinic listings to the platform.
- All submitted listings are subject to review and approval by our moderation team before being published.
- Listings must be accurate, up-to-date, and not misleading. False or fraudulent listings will be removed.
b. Claiming Listings
- Veterinary professionals may claim ownership of existing listings by providing valid proof of association with the clinic.
- Claims are reviewed by our team and may be approved or rejected at our sole discretion.
- SAVET reserves the right to verify the identity of the claimant. If a claim is found to be fraudulent or misleading, SAVET may immediately revoke the claim, suspend the user's account, and restore the listing to its unclaimed status or assign it to the rightful owner.
c. Transactions
- SAVET is a directory platform and is not a party to any transaction between pet owners and veterinary clinics. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of the services provided by listed clinics.
5. User Obligations
- Users must comply with all applicable South African laws and regulations.
- Users must not use SAVET to engage in any illegal or fraudulent activities.
- Users must not post any content that is offensive, defamatory, or infringes on any third party's rights.
- Users must not attempt to manipulate search rankings or listing reviews through artificial means.
6. Fees, Subscriptions, and Payments
a. Free and Premium Services
SAVET is free for pet owners to search and browse veterinary listings. However, we offer optional paid subscription plans ("Premium Features") for veterinary professionals to enhance their clinic's visibility, manage advanced profile information, and access additional platform tools.
b. Merchant of Record (Paddle)
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries related to payments and handles returns. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to Paddle’s Terms of Service.
c. Billing and Cancellation
- Recurring Billing: Premium subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or annually) depending on the plan selected at checkout.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your recurring subscription at any time through your account dashboard or by contacting us. Cancellations will take effect at the end of your current paid billing cycle. You will retain access to the Premium Features until the cycle ends.
d. Refund Policy
We offer a strict 7-day money-back guarantee on all initial Premium subscription purchases. You may request a full refund within 7 days of your original purchase date for any reason. After exactly 7 days from the purchase date, subscription fees are non-refundable. As Paddle.com is our Merchant of Record, all refunds are processed by them in accordance with Paddle's unified Terms of Service.
7. Intellectual Property
- All content on SAVET, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of SAVET or its content suppliers and is protected by South African copyright laws.
- Users may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on SAVET without our explicit written permission.
- By submitting content to the platform (e.g., clinic descriptions, images), you grant SAVET a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content on the platform.
8. Privacy Policy
Your use of SAVET is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these terms. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices regarding the collection and use of your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
9. Limitation of Liability
- SAVET is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the website.
- SAVET does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information on the website, including clinic details, operating hours, and contact information.
- While we strive to keep clinic details, including operating hours and emergency availability, up to date, these details are subject to change without notice. In the event of a medical emergency, users must always contact the veterinary practice directly via phone to confirm their availability before travelling.
- SAVET is not responsible for the quality of veterinary care provided by the clinics listed on the platform.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold SAVET and its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorney's fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your use of the website, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another.
11. Modifications to the Service
SAVET reserves the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the service with or without notice at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users of significant changes.
12. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
